Now that your conversion has completed, follow these steps to download your converted file and ensure your file is restored properly in QuickBooks.

Purchasing and Downloading the File
1) Log back into app.exportmybooks.com with your Intuit credentials. You may have to click Reload to refresh the page if your conversion still shows as Processing.
2 ) Click the Report button to view the Audit Report. The Audit Report will show accounts with balances and displays any conversion errors. To learn more about the Audit Report and how to read it, click here.
3) Click the Purchase button to purchase the file and enter your credit card details.
4) A window will open that displays a password. Make a note of this password. You will need it to restore the file in QuickBooks. We highly recommend copying the password so that you can paste it into QuickBooks once prompted. To copy the password, highlight the characters and click Ctrl+C on a PC, or Command+C on a Mac. You can also right-click and select Copy.
5) Click the Save File button to save the file to your computer. Your file will begin to download but do not attempt to open the file from your browser or from your Downloads folder. Since it is a backup file you’ll have to restore it QuickBooks first for it to work.

Restoring the .qbb File in Windows

Open QuickBooks Pro/Premier/Enterprise. Ensure all company files are closed before you begin the restore process to avoid any confusion. This should land you at the No Company Open window.
1) Click on Open or restore an existing company.
2) Click Restore a backup copy and click Next.
3) Click Local Backup and click Next.
4) Now we’ll locate the backup file that was downloaded from exportmybooks. Navigate to your computer’s Downloads folder (or where you’ve chosen to store your browser downloads).
5) Select the .qbb file then click Open.
6) Next QuickBooks will ask you where you want to restore the file. Select Next.
7) We suggest restoring your QuickBooks file in your Documents folder. Navigate to your Documents folder and select it.
8) Rename the file to your company name and click Save.
9) QuickBooks will then ask you for the password to open and restore the file. Here is where you’ll paste the password copied from the exportmybooks app. Then, click OK.
10) QuickBooks may prompt you to update your company file. If so, select Yes to continue.
11) You may also be prompted to enter a new password for the company file. Input a password that you’ll remember and click Done. We recommend changing your password even if you are not prompted to do so.

Open QuickBooks Desktop Mac. Ensure all company files are closed before you begin the restore process to avoid any confusion. This should land you at the No Company Open window.
1) Click on Browse.
2) Now we’ll locate the backup file that was downloaded from exportmybooks. Navigate to your computer’s Downloads folder (or where you’ve chosen to store your browser downloads). Select the file, then click Open.
3) Click Continue.
4) Next, select where you would like to restore the company file. We suggest restoring your QuickBooks file in your Documents folder. Navigate to your Documents folder and double-click to select it.
5) Rename the file to your company name and click Save. QuickBooks will confirm the name change. Click OK.
6) QuickBooks will then ask you for the password to open and restore the file. Here is where you’ll paste the password copied from the exportmybooks app. Then, click OK.
7) You may be prompted to enter a new password for the company file. Input a password that you’ll remember and click Done. We recommend changing your password even if you are not prompted to do so.
